Shower Doors: Our Friends, or Our Enemies?

I couldn’t believe it! My in-line shower had just gone off the rails again. The inner door was always getting stuck, and this time was the last time I’d be slipping from just the door of my shower coming unlatched. I went and did something I wasn’t quite sure I’d ever put onmybingo card, at least… I searched up ‘New shower doors in Morris County NJ‘, and though I could have put in Boonton or Morris Plains, I decided to be a bit general. I was willing to drive or travel if I had to for this peace of mind.

It struck me, suddenly, that I didn’t even know what I was searching for. I backtracked and went to look up what exactly the sorts of things I would want to know when looking for a new shower door. This wasn’t my favorite Friday night activity, but it could certainly have been worse. What was most interesting was learning just how many different discrete types of shower doors there happened to be. They even called the lack of a door a shower door! (Is it possible to have a shower without a door? That would be like the locker room or beach type showers, but even most of those have at least some sort of enclosure!)

As I looked through the different types I decided to finally make a decision. Did I want a swing open door or another one that was in-line? I thought about how large my bathroom happened to be, which considering the size of the apartment, was simply not very big. A swing open door would be look and be very interesting, but there just wasn’t the space. What sort of door was most efficient, then?

Even after all of that, as typical for me and my shopping habits, I ended up just having someone come and fix the one I already had instead, so I didn’t have to grow close to something new. After all, my shower door and I had been together since I moved in, and I couldn’t just give it up like that, no matter how new the replacement would be.
